Position Summary Information

Position Description:

The Department of Psychology at North Dakota State University announces a nine-month, tenure track Assistant Professor position in Psychology, beginning August 16, 2018. Responsibilities will include establishing and maintaining a high-quality independent research program, teaching three courses per year at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and contributing to the service needs of the university. The ideal candidate would conduct research on a health-related topic from a cognitive neuroscience perspective. Preference will be given to individuals whose research is aligned with the university’s grand challenges to address Healthy Populations and Vital Communities, and the college’s research theme Linking Ecosystems and Health in Rural Communities.

Minimum Qualifications:

The minimum qualifications for the position are: Ph.D. degree in Psychology or related discipline by anticipated start date, evidence of research accomplishments, excellent potential for external funding, and ability to teach courses in our curriculum and to interact effectively with colleagues and students. Effective oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Priority will be given to candidates with postdoctoral experience and whose research interests and expertise lie at the intersection of Health Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience, and who could contribute to existing areas of research emphasis at the departmental, college, and university levels (e.g. rural health and health disparities, eating disorders, obesity and/or ingestive behaviors).
